In his speech, Pedro Arboleda talks about regional and national innovation and the key factors in the business environment; on one hand, the source for innovation, and on the other hand, the factors that make the most impact on it, such as proximity and finding a place to innovate, connecting people who talk the same language and providing the capacity to act, among others. He claims that only firms are competitive, not countries or regions.
Pedro Arboleda is a Partner at Monitor Group, where he leads ongoing competitiveness and innovation-related projects. He has also led many projects in constituency management and innovation in Spain and the United States, and has been mentioned for his work in The Economist magazine. Pedro was also the project leader of initiatives for the Government of Denmark, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the US-Russia Business Council to benchmark entrepreneurships and recommend policies to advance innovation. He was also a senior advisor in the US Department of Defense.
