In his presentation, Germán Lorenzo, Director for Asia Pacific at Mondragon Cooperative Corporation, explains the reasons for investing in China and the experience of MCC during its implementation in China. He explained that China has always been a threat, but also an important source of opportunities, and in the case of MCC, the price of not being in China was too high.
Germán Lorenzo is currently the Director for Asia Pacific at Mondragón Corporación Cooperativa. He is in charge of Asia Corporate Strategy planning and design in coordination with the different Business Divisions in the Region, as well as the Promotion and development of Industrial Investment, Selling and Sourcing operations in Asia-Pacific region.
From 1998 to 2001, he was Business Development Manager at Intergroup Far-East Ltd. Hong Kong, assisting the Managing Director in designing, implementing and managing the company expansion plan throughout all of Asia. He was previously Import Manager at Grupo Eroski. He holds a degree in Law from the Deusto University of Bilbao, a diploma in International Trade from the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Bilbao, Spain, and an International MBA in European Management from the University of Deusto, Spain. Germán also participated in a number of Management programs for Executives in Hong Kong, Boston, London and Singapore.
