These tools serve to warn of shoplifting, to control the stores goods or to pay tolls automatically. They are smart tags, small chips attached to all sorts of objects that work with radio frequencies, from bags to passports, through drugs or football tickets. Their uncontrolled use has been quarantined by the authorities in data protection. They complain that they can invade the privacy and endanger public safety by revealing personal data. These devices work by RFID (radio frequency identification tags) and are increasingly common in everyday life.
