The Innovation Promotion Platform (IPP) was created with the objective of promoting entrepreneurial talent by supporting any person that has an innovative idea related to an emerging technology in setting up his/ her own business.

The Bankinter Foundation of Innovation hopes to use the IPP to develop a network that will not only enable innovation, but will also promote learning to detect innovation, turning the innovator into a businessperson and innovation into economic wealth.

Project Approach

The IPP was developed to offer unique support to Entrepreneurs with technological backgrounds, with the hope of increasing the Spanish market’s competitiveness and developing applied innovation by fostering the creation of new innovative companies through three action mechanisms:

  -  mobilizing high end Intellectual Capital from both potential entrepreneurs and international experts in order to promote innovative and brilliant business projects;

   -  supporting projects and entrepreneurs right from their innovative idea’s phase up until they have formed a company with a start-up team, developed a product/service and identified potential customers, with a special emphasis on addressing the key creative and developmental areas that are currently being neglected;

   -  creating Spanish success stories and giving them the media coverage they deserve.

The benefits of IPP are: the creation of new companies, the attraction of high level national and international private capital, the development of experienced managers in funds focused on initial stages, the commercialization of Intellectual Property, job creation in the platform and portfolio companies. Other benefits are the promotion of the innovation spirit, keeping entrepreneurs in each region that the IPP promotes, attract and maintain important technological professionals, the development of new technologies, the recognition in media of the entrepreneurs and improvement of the competitive setting in the region.
